Search for missing men to resume in Tonga

| International News | Sunday June 17 2012 11:17

A search for the two men missing off Tonga after their yacht broke up, will resume today.

Two full days searches by boats and aircraft off the island of Vava'u have failed to locate the men, who are both in their sixties.

The Rescue Coordination Centre is now coordinating with local police to arrange a land-based search party to cover the island of Late, to check whether the men had come ashore.

There's no boat available to take a search party to the island today, so the search will resume at first light tomorrow.
