The Queen is to meet and shake hands with a man who once led the terror group which wanted her dead. Sky News reports the face-to-face encounter with former IRA leader Martin McGuinness is scheduled to take place at a charity event in Belfast next week. Sinn Fein has previously boycotted royal visits, but its president Gerry Adams says the decision is good for Ireland. "In the context of conflict resolution and national reconciliation, as well as our own republican national objectives, the Sinn Fein agreed that Martin should accept the invitation."
