Mayor bans bad manners

By: Alexia Russell | International News | Thursday December 6 2012 9:33

A French mayor is forcing his town to say "au revoir" to bad manners.

Newstalk ZB France correspondent Catherine Field says Mayor Gerard Plee of Lheraule is furious about slipping standards and has introduced rules that would see citizens ejected from the town hall if they can't be polite.

"The mayor says that the line has been crossed, people have got to start minding their P's and Q's now.

"He says if anybody comes into his town hall from now on and does not say hello when they come in, or does not say thank you when it should be said, he will throw them out."
