Pistorius to hold memorial for girlfriend

South African star athlete Oscar Pistorius will mourn the girlfriend he's charged with murdering in a private memorial service to be held today.

His publicist says Pistorius specifically requested the service as he continues to grieve the loss of his partner Reeva Steenkamp.

Pistorius is charged with intentionally shooting the 29-year-old at his house in Pretoria on Valentine's Day.

Ms Steenkamp was cremated in her hometown of Port Elizabeth last Tuesday.

Pistorius was released on bail last Friday and is due back in court on June 4.
