Study reveals distress amongst nurses

| Latest Health News | Wednesday August 15 2012 15:09

Nearly half of nurses are thinking of giving up their job and Labour's putting it down to underfunding of District Health Boards.

A Massey University study found 48 percent of the 400 nurses surveyed experienced "moral distress" to the extent they want to give up nursing.

Labour's health spokeswoman Maryan Street says the most common complaint was the concern they can't deliver the level of patient care they feel they should be able to deliver because of management pressure to reduce costs.
