20 percent of teenage girls in Queensland overweight

A leading Queensland researcher is warning adolescent girls need to improve their fitness and diet if they want to avoid health issues when they decide to start a family.

Professor Andrew Hills has been researching the relationship between obesity in teenage girls and health outcomes of mothers and babies.

A recent study has found almost 20 percent of adolescent girls in Queensland are overweight.
