Saving for retirement needs to start earlier

By: Jacob Brown | Latest Health News | Friday August 17 2012 9:54

Pensioners are being told they need to start saving earlier if they want a decent retirement.

New research shows almost half of retirees say they don't have adequate financial resources to meet their needs.

Thirty three percent aren't satisfied with their retirement, while 46 percent say retirement isn't meeting their expectations.

Greypower National President Roy Reid says people shouldn't just rely on superannuation payments.

"We've been working with the retirement commission to try and develop an educational programme that will encourage people to save for their retirement age."
