Telemarketer pose as Cystic Fibrosis group

By: Newstalk ZB staff | Latest Health News | Wednesday July 25 2012 13:47

The Cystic Fibrosis Association is worried at the impact a telemarketing scam may have on the organisation.

It doesn't do any telemarketing, but someone's calling people asking for a $25 donation to be made to a bank account.

The scam's currently doing the rounds of South Canterbury and Otago - but Cystic Fibrosis Association CEO Kate Russell says its not the first time it's operated.

She says it moves around the country, with calls being made in Tauranga last year.
