If you're not keen on being a guinea pig for new magic tricks, you might want to avoid sitting in the front row of The Civic theatre in Auckland tonight.
'The Illusionists' begins this evening and runs until June 2.
It is the biggest selling magic show in the world, and features seven magicians.
Dan Sperry, who calls himself the anti-conjurer, says the performers will be premiering a lot of new material in Auckland.
"Lots of new stuff, never before seen stuff that we've designed and put together specifically for The Illusionistst to bring here."
Sperry, who plays Russian roulette with razor blades baked in cookies, says the show has been the same while touring for the last year but will be taken to the next level in Auckland.
"A live band, pyro(technics), crazy stuff I probably shouldn't stay.
"People appear right next to you who you probably don't expect."
