Show goes on for the star of Mary Poppins

By: Natasha Burling | Entertainment News | Wednesday October 17 2012 16:36

The show will go on.

The New Yorker who plays Mary Poppins is confident her ankle will hold up for the rest of the season at Auckland's Civic Theatre.

Rachel Wallace was taken to hospital last night after spraining it while performing Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious at a preview show.

She says she was released after having it treated by physiotherapists.

"I've got a great guy who tapes it up and makes it feel very secure. Doing it in these boots is actually kind of helpful, I've got support built into my costume already so i fell very safe adn well taken care of."

Ms Wallace says she also hurt her ankle in Los Angeles.

She says there are bound to be occasional blunders when doing the show eight times a week in heels.
