A deal with the devil, is how one movie promotion is being described in Hollywood.
To promote the drama 'Alan Newman', independent studio Cinedigm are releasing the first seven minutes of the film on file-sharing service BitTorrent, according to media website The Wrap.
But BitTorrent is known as a haven for piracy, and the big studios are accusing Cinedigm of teaming up with a platform that costs the industry millions each year.
Around 200,000 people have been sued for pirating copyrighted content via BitTorrent since 2010.
