BBC removes global warming claim from Africa series

By: Newstalk ZB staff | Entertainment News | Tuesday February 12 2013 16:43

The BBC has removed a claim about global warming from the wildlife series Africa.

In the final part of the series, presenter Sir David Attenborough claimed parts of the continent had warmed by 3.5 degrees celcius in the past 20 years.

The Daily Mail says when the episode was repeated, the controversial claim was deleted.

After initially defending the statement, the BBC has conceded it was mistake.

Researchers are being blamed for the error, not Sir David.
