A secondary tumour which has been discovered by surgeons appears to have given pop star Robin Gibb only days to live.
The 62-year-old Bee Gee appeared to rally following recent surgery for a twisted bowel, the same hereditary intestinal condition that led to the death of his twin brother Maurice at the age of 53.
The family is keeping a bedside vigil and fans are praying for his survival.
He has slipped into a coma.
Robin Gibb's health problems forced him to miss the premiere of The Titanic Requiem, the debut classical work from both Robin and his 29-year-old son Robin-John, known as RJ.
It was written by the two of them to mark the centenary of the Titanic disaster of 1912, and it premiered at London's Westminster City Hall.
Robin Gibb is fighting infection and has pneumonia as he loses his battle with liver and colon cancer.
