| Latest Emergency News | Monday January 28 2013 6:51

Timaru police are calling for witnesses to come forward after two men were stabbed during a fracas on the weekend.

The assault took place on the road at the lower end of Church Street, opposite the taxi stands, at about 1:30 on Saturday morning.

A 21-year-old was stabbed in the incident and made it to Sophia Street before collapsing on the road opposite the Sail and Anchor Bar and Cafe.

He was admitted to hospital with moderate injuries.

A second victim, aged 20, fled the scene but admitted himself to hospital three hours later.

Three people aged 18, 19 and 25 have been arrested and face charges including assault, possession of a knife and possession of cannabis.
