| Latest Emergency News | Tuesday October 2 2012 15:35

A man is in a serious condition in Christchurch Hospital after getting his arm caught in a harvester on a Barrhill property in Canterbury this afternoon.

Emergency services - including the Rakaia Volunteer Fire Brigade, two St John Ambulances and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter - were called to a private property on Farquhars Road where the accident occurred at 12.45pm.

A St John spokesperson said the man, in his 60s, got one of his arms caught in the harvester and he had been freed and flown to Christchurch Hospital.

His condition was described as being serious.
