Fire officers to the rescue as cats escape cold

| Latest Emergency News | Thursday May 3 2012 21:56

It seems the sudden drop in temperature is being widely disliked.

Auckland fire officers have tonight rescued a cat from a car's engine compartment in the suburb of Papatoetoe.

Northern fire shift commander Jaron Phillips says bizarrely, a different cat was rescued from a car engine in the same suburb last night.

He suspects the cats were cold, and climbed into the engine compartments to keep warm.
