Pedestrian dead after being struck by car

A female pedestrian has been killed after being struck by a car in Auckland tonight.

The incident occurred at about 8.05pm near the Great North Road and West Coast Road intersection.

Emergency services are at the scene.

The age of the victim is unknown.

Traffic diversions are in place at the intersection, and at the Great North Road and Titirangi Road intersection.

Significant delays can be expected.

The police serious crash unit is investigating.
