Man seriously hurt after being hit by vehicle

A man has been seriously hurt when he was hit by a vehicle on Riverbend Road in Napier.

Police say the 19-year-old had just got out of his vehicle and had run around the front of it when he ran into the side of another vehicle that was passing.

The man was thrown to the ground and suffered serious head injuries.

He has been taken to the Hawke's Bay Regional Hospital in Hastings.

Police are investigating.
