Member of public pulls person from blaze

By: Alexia Russell | Latest Emergency News | Thursday September 20 2012 7:40

Neighbours of a man who was pulled from his burning house in Christchurch says his rescuer is a hero.

Lucas Lormans was the first to notice the smoke at his neighbour's house and ran into the building to find him on the couch.

He called a passer by to help to pull him out.

Neighbours say the fast thinking actions of Mr Lormans definitely saved the man's life.

They say the house turned into an inferno very quickly and the it's now just a shell - it's a miracle the victim survived.

The house, which is part of a unit, is completed gutted and is likely to be demolished.
