Students escape unharmed after crash

Related

A group of Wairarapa students have escaped unharmed after a car crashed into their school bus this morning.

Ten students were on the bus when a Masterton woman drove into it just after 7.30am.

Sergeant Chris McGaw says the 46-year-old woman had fallen asleep at the when when she veered across the centre line.

"She had an early start this morning, she was coming back from the airport and she's crossed over the centre line and collided with an oncoming school bus."

Sergeant McGaw says the woman is likely to face careless driving charges over the incident.

"The bus driver tried to get as far over to the left hand side as possible to prevent collision, but still collided with the front of it and both vehicles sustained moderate damage."
