Mountain biker airlifted to hospital

The Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter helped a badly injured mountain biker this afternoon.

The man fell off his bike in the Kahuterawa Valley near Massey University.

The biker sustained serious injuries and was stabilised by St John staff and the volunteer helicopter crew.

He was airlifted to Palmerston North Hospital.
