New survey for parents with disabled children

By: Annabel Reid | Latest Education News | Friday July 13 2012 16:54

Parents with disabled children are being asked to rate their experiences dealing with early childhood education services.

The survey's been devised by the Parent and Family Resource Centre with assistance from Auckland Council and targets parents of children under seven-years-old.

Parent and Family Resource Centre director Lisa Martin says they want a comprehensive survey.

"We know anecdotally from what parents are telling us that access can sometimes be difficult, that sometimes early education centres are not entirely welcoming of a child with a disability."

Ms Martin says they'll be collating the findings of their survey into a report into the services.
