Outraged residents to speak with Education Minister

By: Katie Bradford-Crozier | Latest Education News | Wednesday October 24 2012 5:44

Those outraged by plans to close or merge a number of Christchurch schools will have the chance to vent directly to the Education Minister.

Hekia Parata has written to the 37 schools most affected by the proposals, offering to personally visit them in the next three weeks.

She admits some might think it's damage control, given accusations the whole proposal has been handled badly.

But Ms Parata insists she genuinely wants to hear what communities have to say, listen to their concerns, and answer any questions.

There are seven weeks of consultation left.
