Uni students encouraged to keep open mind

By: Annabel Reid | Latest Education News | Friday February 3 2012 10:33

Students embarking on tertiary education in the coming weeks are being encouraged to keep an open mind.

Careers New Zealand hopes students have a Plan B, in case they miss their first option or if they want to change tack.

Chief executive Dr Graeme Benny says students need to think carefully about their area of study as New Zealand is limited by the number and kind of jobs available.

He says New Zealand offers plenty of tertiary education centres for people to choose from.

Dr Benny says there are always alternative routes to get qualifications and students need to take that into account.
