Benefits of tertiary education highlighted

By: Juliette Sivertsen | Latest Education News | Friday January 27 2012 16:43

The economic benefits of tertiary education have been highlighted in a new OECD report.

New data shows that countries which invested in tertiary education weathered the global financial crisis better than those that did not.

Tertiary Education Union National President Dr Sandra Grey says it's self-evident that investing in the sector helps protect people and countries from economic troubles.

She claims with a little more belief and support from the government, the sector could lead New Zealand's recovery from the economic downturn.
