Moerewa's principal welcomes commissioner

| Latest Education News | Tuesday April 24 2012 16:18

The principal of Moerewa School has welcomed her new independent commissioner on to the school grounds.

Mike Eru is replacing the Northland school's Board of Trustees which has been sacked for welcoming back senior students, despite being told to shut its poorly performing senior unit.

Mr Eru arrived just before 3pm

Former board chair Midge Palmer was there to greet him.

Mr Palmer says contrary to threats about blocking Mr Eru from entering the school, his arrival was peaceful.
