By: Anna Cross | Latest Crime News | Monday July 30 2012 17:40

The woman who sparked a massive police hunt after allegedly kidnapping a 17-month-old girl has appeared in the Waitakere District Court.

Skye Mason,27, entered no plea at the hearing.

Judge Claire Ryans says she has received a report of a forensic nature relating to mental health issues. The judge says Mason's condition is fragile and she is not to be photographed or filmed.

Mason has been remanded in custody overnight as police continue further investigation. She is also facing a charge of assaulting a police officer.
