Development in Sara Niethe murder case

By: Newstalk ZB staff | Latest Crime News | Friday February 15 2013 7:27

There's a new development in the Sara Niethe murder case.

The mother of three's body has never been found, 10 years after she went missing.

The man accused of her murder, Mark Pakenham, is expected to appear in the High Court in Hamilton today.

There's an indication the Crown intends to reduce the murder charge to manslaughter.

His lawyer Paul Mabey QC says Pakenham intends to plead guilty to the lesser charge.

More information about the case has surfaced since his arrest and the 50-year-old may face further charges.
