Man wanted for assault may be armed

A man wanted for assaulting his partner may be armed.

Police are asking for the public to report any sightings of Daniel Minogue.

The 31-year-old was last seen in Nelson last Friday but has links to the Bay of Plenty, in particular Taupo, Turangi and Rotorua.

He's described as Maori, approximately 176 centimetres (about 5'9") tall with dark hair.

Police say Minogue is a known drug user and is believed to have a firearm with him so shouldn't be approached.

Any sightings of Minogue should be reported immediately to police by calling 111 or Crimestoppers.
