Dunedin Police have arrested a wanted man following a large-scale manhunt this morning.

Justin Paul, who ran away from Moana House on October 5, was tracked down by police in North East Valley.

Police believe the manâ s responsible for a number of burglaries in the North Dunedin area over the past week.

Senior Sergeant Steve Aitken says 'pretty much every police officer they could find' was involved in the hunt.

Mr Paul was eventually stranded in Chambers Street and surrendered to police.

Sergeant Aitken says the man will appear in court tomorrow and then be returned to the Otago Correctional Facility.
