Thieves have made off with service workers' uniforms and ID which allow them access into Christchurch's Red Zone. Five vehicles were broken into at a group of flats in Champion St overnight. The thieves took Aotea Electrical blue overalls, a Ward Demolition fluro uniform, and a Fletchers orange fluro uniform complete with helmet and earmuffs, plus Fletchers' ID. They also nicked Fletchers and Ward Demolition order books that can be used as cheques with suppliers and two Fletchers' radios. Also taken were a set of golf clubs, numerous tools, a wallet, a camera and $4000 worth of horse gear. Police are warning locals, businesses and contractors to be aware that these items may be used to gain goods, services or entry into homes. Anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Matthew Reeves on (03) 3637400. Alternatively, to provide information anonymously, contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Photo: NZ Herald |
