Shots fired into Masterton house

By: Jacqui Stanford | Latest Crime News | Saturday July 28 2012 19:45

Police have revealed shots were fired last night into two bedrooms of a Masterton house, one where children slept.

They say no-one was injured in the Miriam Street house when the shots were fired around 8.45 last night.

Acting Detective Sergeant Mike Smith says a number of bullets went through the walls of two bedrooms, one of which is used by children.

Indications are it was a drive-by shooting.

Mr Smith says police are taking the shooting very seriously and want to hear from anyone with information.

They are asked to contact Masterton Police on 06 370 0300 or by calling the 'Crimestoppers' line anonymously on 0800 555 111.
