Teen arrested in Hamilton hit and run

There's been an arrest over last night's hit and run in Hamilton.

A mother and her two children were injured when the Subaru they were in was rammed by a boyracer, who then fled the scene.

Police found the car a short time later but it took longer to find the teen driver.

Police say he was quickly arrested and charged with failing to stop to ascertain injury.

He was in court today but has been remanded on bail to reappear at a later date.

According to police, the teen will also face excess breath alcohol charges.
