Rebels gang member still eluding police

A patched Rebels gang member who escaped electronic bail is still on the run from police.

Craig Matthews was last seen by a family member in Palmerston North a week ago.

Detective Inspector Chris Bensemann says he's been talking to Mr Matthews' family, and they're hoping he does the right thing and hands himself in.

Mr Matthews is described as a New Zealand European, around 184cm tall, of medium to solid build, and has gang associates throughout the North Island.
