Young boy calls police on mum's violent partner

By: Sophia Duckor-Jones | Latest Crime News | Friday July 6 2012 11:42

Waikato police are praising the brave efforts of a young boy who called emergency services during a violent domestic dispute.

The man, who's the partner of his mother, was arrested just after 8pm last night after the incident at a Rototuna home, before heading to another address for the night.

It was at this point police received a call from the boy who was concerned his mother was in danger.

Police returned to the home of the boy and his mother, and found the man had made his way back to the house and was threatening his partner with a knife.

The man will appear in the Hamilton District Court today on charges of threatening to kill and assault with a weapon.
