New Plymouth police seeking help in homicide inquiry

New Plymouth police have launched a homicide inquiry following the discovery of a body in the back seat of a car around 2:30pm.

The car was found near a place known as Meeting of the Waters, just south of the city.

The car is a maroon or purple-coloured 1987 Commodore sedan.

Police are looking for information from members of the public who may have sighted the vehicle.
