The detective in charge of an operation that broke up a drug ring in Hawke's Bay says he's pleased with the sentences handed down to those involved. Gary Tuhi has today been sentenced to five years and seven months jail for his part in importing, cultivating and selling large amounts of cannabis, methamphetamine, LSD, and ecstasy. His partner, Te Manawanui Fitzgerald, was sentenced to four and a half years jail. Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Foster says the hefty sentences should deter others in the community from going down a similar path. Photo: NZ Herald |
