Two men are due in court tomorrow charged with the murder of Helensville man Lee McMurdo. Police arrested the West Auckland men, aged 24 and 26, after a 13 month investigation into Mr McMurdo's death. His body was found by his 12-year-old daughter at his home in Helensville. Lee McMurdo was a known drug user and low-level dealer, which police believe he was seduced into after the collapse of his trucking business. Police are expressing their gratitude to the Helensville community for its help in their investigation. Investigation head Detective Inspector Greg Cramer says throughout the investigation police received enormous support from the residents of Helensville and many other communities beyond, and they're very grateful. Detective Inspector Cramer says the arrests are a satisfying development for his team, and for the McMurdo family. The two men accused of his murder will appear in North Shore District Court on Monday. Photo: stock.xchng |
