Woman charged with man's attempted murder

A 51-year-old woman has been charged with attempted murder following an assault on a man in Dunedin last night.

Emergency services were called to an address in Corstorphine at about 8pm following the incident.

Acting Senior Sergeant Damian Rangitutia says the victim, a 53-year-old man, suffered serious injuries to his upper body.

He's recovering in Dunedin Hospital, but the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police say the offender is known to the man.

She's due to appear in Dunedin District Court today.

Police aren't seeking anyone else in relation to the incident.
