Alleged throat-slasher still on the run

By: Sam Thompson | Latest Crime News | Saturday October 13 2012 18:27

A man who allegedly slashed the throat of a man in Nelson yesterday is on the run.

Police are searching for 39-year-old Steven Pengelly.

Detective Sergeant Mark Kaveney says the incident happened at a house in Washington Valley Rd yesterday afternoon.

He says Pengelly is dangerous and should not be approached and if anyone knows where he is to contact police.

Mark Kaveney says the victim's cut to the throat was life threatening, but he's undergone surgery and is in a stable condition.
