| Latest Crime News | Monday June 11 2012 12:47

Two inmates who escaped from Waikeria Prison have appeared in court today.

Jesse Ibell, and Wayne Holmes had been on the run from the Waikato prison since Thursday morning.

They were both arrested in Dargaville on Saturday, after a tip-off to police.

The pair appeared in Whangarei District Court this morning charged with escaping custody, theft of a vehicle and intentional damage.

No plea was entered and they were remanded back into custody and will appear in Hamilton District Court next week.
