Man arrested after teen sex assault

A 23-year-old man's been arrested following a sexual assault on a young teenage girl in Masterton.

The man's due to appear in the Masterton District Court tomorrow on a raft of charges including assault with intent to commit sexual violation, abduction, sexual violation and robbery.

Detective Senior Sergeant Sean Hansen reminds people who're walking alone at take suitable precautions to keep themselves safe.

Police are continuing to provide ongoing support to the 14-year-old girl alongside other agencies.
