Dunedin MP worried police may be lacking resources

Related

Concerns Dunedin Police aren't responding to 111 calls, just a week after two children were shot dead in their family home.

It's being reported a Waipori resident called emergency services after hearing gunshots in the early hours of Sunday morning.

However, police didn't have a car to dispatch.

Dunedin's Labour MP Clare Curran is worried police may be lacking the resources to respond to important callouts.

"I think that chance that there needs to be looking underneath the surface at what's really happening."

Ms Curran is organising to meet with Dunedin's Area Commander this week, to find out what's going on.
