| Latest Crime News | Thursday April 26 2012 11:07

A 64-year-old man remains in a serious condition in hospital after being attacked in his home near Turangi.

The assault occurred in Tokaanu on April 14.

Police located a 21-year-old man in the early hours of that morning and he's since appeared in the Taupo District Court charged with assault.

Police say it's likely more serious charges will be laid.

The man remains in custody and is due to reappear in court on May 8.
