McDonalds craving leads to driver kidnapping

Three men have been charged with kidnapping after they allegedly ordered a security van driver to take them to McDonalds.

The men approached an Armourguard driver in Waitara early yesterday and demanded he drive them to New Plymouth for McMuffins.

Police say the driver took the men to the restaurant and dropped them back in Waitara before calling them.

No weapons were used, and no money was stolen.

The driver's being offered victim support.
