Police have busted a major drug ring operating through Hawkes Bay and Auckland. Five properties in the two regions have been searched by police, with nine ounces of methamphetamine being seized in Auckland, and three ounces in Hawkes Bay, as well as a large amount of cash, LSD and a boat. Three men aged between 22 and 57 have appeared in the Napier District Court charged with supplying methamphetamine and possession for supply. A 42-year-old man is due to appear in the Auckland District Court charged with possession for supply, supplying the drug and unlawful possession of a pistol. Further charges are likely. Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Foster says the group was operating for around a year and has gang connections.
"It's yet to be established how this bust will affect the supply as well, but we're picking it's going to be significant for the Hawkes Bay community." Four men are now facing drugs charges. Photo: Money, drugs seized by police (Supplied) |
