Found skeleton's identity confirmed

By: Lesley Deverall | Latest Crime News | Friday June 8 2012 17:39

After an eight month investigation, Auckland police have identified the skeleton found in a Mt Wellington garage.

They've also confirmed 25-year-old Javed Mills was the victim of a homicide.

Police say Mr Mills, who also known as Javed Rahman, lived at a nearby house on Barrack Road and died there in 2009.

A forensic examination of the property is now underway.

A 24-year-old Mt Wellington man appeared in the Auckland District Court on Wednesday charged with interfering with human remains.

He's been granted name suppression.

Police say more serious charges are likely to be laid in the coming weeks.
