| Latest Crime News | Saturday September 15 2012 9:52

Kapiti police are investigating the death of a 20-year-old man overnight.

Police were called to a fight in the carpark of the Kapiti Lights complex just before 1am this morning.

The man was found dead at the scene.

Officer-in-charge Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Oxnam says the scene remains cordoned off this morning.

He says police are speaking with some people who were near the Monteiths Kapiti Junction bar at the time of the altercation.

Senior Sergeant Oxnam says police are in the early stages of this investigation and have a large team working on establishing the circumstances surrounding the death.
