Third arrest made over armed robberies

Tauranga Police have arrested a third person in relation to two armed robberies.

The robberies took place on June 18 at the Mobil Service Station in Waihi and the Park Road Dairy and Katikati.

A 19-year-old unemployed Te Aroha man has been charged with two counts of assault with intent to rob and two charges of unlawful possession of a firearm.

He will appear in the Tauranga District Court today.
