Hunt continues for Kinleith gunman

Around 30 police officers are investigating the shooting of road worker George Taiaroa in south Waikato.

The 67-year-old was killed on Tuesday afternoon while working as a stop-go man on Tram Road in the Kinleith Forest.

Police say they've had a good response from the public following their plea for information.

Today they'll be following up possible sightings of a blue Jeep Cherokee they believe might be the gunman's vehicle.

Officers will also be speaking to the Taiaroa family to try to build up a picture of him and why he may have been targeted.
